Time: Wednesday, October 23, 2024 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Location: Ohio Union, Center for Belonging and Social Change, Alonso Family Room
The First-Gen Empowerment Series is a series of weekly workshops designed to help first-generation college students get familiar with college in general and Ohio State specifically, connect to university resources, find community, and develop strategies to thrive here at Ohio State and beyond! No matter where you are in your college journey, you don’t have to go it alone!
The phrase “First-Generation College Student” means different things to different people. Here at Ohio State, our definition refers to students whose parents have not completed a four-year degree. (Even if your siblings went to college!)
To see this week's topic, check out our page for First-Generation College Students.
The First-Gen Empowerment Series consists of open, drop-in workshops. While created with first-generation college students in mind, any student can benefit from these workshops, and all students are more than welcome to attend. Join us for all our workshops, or just a few, it’s up to you!
Many sessions are also approved for First Year Success Series, STEP Professional Development Co-Curriculars, and Standards of Excellence with Sorority and Fraternity Life.
